To get a GPS fix faster, check that you have Assisted GPS (A-GPS) enabled in your GPS settings and that there's an internet connection available:
- Select Settings > Device > GPS and positioning.
- Check that Device positioning and Mobile data connection are enabled.
Enabling "Mobile data connection" will turn on the A-GPS feature. A-GPS uses your mobile internet connection to connect to a Nokia server to fetch the satellite data. This will substantially reduce the time to get a GPS fix. When "Mobile data connection" is enabled, a small amount of data will be transferred via the internet connection and data charges may apply.
Note that you may not get a GPS fix while indoors or when the access to the satellites is obstructed in some other ways.
