Applications Virtualization

Application virtualization transforms applications into centrally managed services that don’t conflict with other applications. Two key technologies supporting these new flexible Workstyles are Application Virtualization (App-V) and RemoteApp.

Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V)
Provides anywhere user access to their applications on any authorized device without application installs. App-V increases business agility through faster application deployment and updates with no user interruptions. It minimizes conflicts between applications, allowing enterprises to reduce application compatibility testing time. App-V together with USV provides users with a consistent experience and reliable access to applications and business data, no matter their location and connection to the Internet.
RemoteApp
Powered by Remote Desktop Services (RDS) from Windows Server, is another virtualization technology that makes it possible for administrators to deliver centrally managed applications to users. RemoteApp enables a straightforward publishing process that allows apps on physical session or VDI hosts to be provided to users, it allows RemoteApps to run side by side with local apps and offers integration with the Start menu to make it simple for users to find and launch RemoteApps.
