VDC hosts very strong engineers while being hosted in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. That is great to work here, that is great to live here. Driving distance to Redmond and the same time zone make up to very strong presence in standard Microsoft work cycles

“You get to live in a city that’s indescribably beautiful, surrounded by remarkably brilliant people in many different projects and roles. It widens your vision not only about Microsoft, but the industry as a whole. And at least, for me, about plans for the future in all possible levels and topics”.

I joined the Microsoft Canada Development Center early 2009 as a senior program manager with the Visual Studio ALM Rangers, responsible for out-of-band solutions for feature gaps and value-add guidance. I found myself in an exciting melting pot of the world’s best software engineers, exposed to diverse product groups, individuals and cultures, a motivating atmosphere of innovation and passion, making it the working environment anyone could wish for. Vancouver is one of the best livable cities in the world and Microsoft is one of the best companies to work in the world. Put together work-life balance doesn’t get any better. I love being surrounded by extremely talented professionals from every part of the world. The picturesque views of mountains, oceans and the glass-city of Vancouver provide the inspiration to ship the next generation of beautiful technology that more than a billion people will use. The diversity of cultures, ideas and nature is what makes VDC a truly humbling place to work. VDC provides an environment that encourages me to push at my best.
