Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) can use cloud computing to level the playing field with larger enterprises.
A host of sophisticated tools and applications are available to companies operating online, which in the past they would have been required to spend large sums of money on.
With access to hosted services, they can simply pay for IT solutions as and when they use them, rather than having to spend vast sums of money making outright purchases.
This enables the SMB to move from an investment model based on capital expenditure to one based on operational.
Larger companies with more extensive IT budgets have historically had the edge on SMBs -they could afford IT solutions which small companies could not.
But with business-grade services available to subscribers online, accessible through a third-party data centre, all companies have the same opportunities.
With Office 365, small businesses have the opportunity to use Microsoft solutions in the cloud, boosting efficiencies and productivity.
Employees are able to access online tools from a variety of locations, using different devices.
This gives professional people more flexibility, helping them to do productive work at all times, whether they are in the office or not.
