The first task for businesses looking to take advantage of web hosting is to register a domain name, it has been claimed.

According to Aussie Webhost, businesses can choose from a range of web addresses, but it is best to select a short name.

This is because internet users find it harder to type a longer name into the URL, the firm stated.

"Try to not use any other allowed signs in your domain name except the letters," it urged.

"Just type some keywords and there will be a lot of names for you and usually the domain suggestion tool will only show the available domains."

After selecting a new domain name, businesses need to choose a host server to support their website, Aussie Webhost stated.

"The hosting server is a place where you should keep all of the scripts and the media files to make your website ready for surfing," the company explained.

"If you own multiple websites then you should choose the reseller hosting package. If you own a single website and if you do not need much CPU usages then you can try the shared hosting package."
