The new Surface Pro 2 has introduced a number of new features for Microsoft tablet users, it has been claimed.
Writing for The Verge, technology reviewer Tom Warren said the device's two-stage kickstand improves in-lap use, while Surface Pro 2's accessories have been tweaked and refined.
He commented that the battery life is "much better" with the new tablet, which is the same weight and size as the original.
"The Surface Pro 2’s unique mix of touch, keyboard, mouse, and pen really does work," Mr Warren stated.
"It does everything you would expect a regular desktop PC to do."
He claimed there are few devices with as much versatility, if you are looking for a cross between a tablet and laptop.
Mr Warren said Windows 8 has pushed the idea of a tablet and laptop combination, but there is still scope for improvement.
Even so, it is a "great machine" for users wanting to work or have access to the internet on the move, he suggested.
