Small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) need to spend time generating fresh content for their websites, it has been claimed.
Writing for Business 2 Community, Nancy Perkins said it is important to give consumers reasons to visit business websites, rather than looking elsewhere.
The types of content they should focus on include news articles, graphics and videos, she suggested.
Ms Perkins said the SMB marketing team should create a roadmap for the month to know what aspects of their business they can focus on every week.
"Create as many blog sites as possible and maintain them," she urged.
"Also, establish your search engine optimisation to maximise your presence on the web."
Ms Perkins said it is important to learn as much as possible about SEO, in particular the dos and don'ts.
She said that with so many consumers on the internet, it is necessary for SMBs to increase their online presence where possible.
This can open up new revenue channels and help SMBs engage better with the target audience.
Microsoft 365 gives businesses the opportunity to access powerful online applications, which allow them to create professional looking websites and publish content.
