An increased demand for unified communication solutions is being seen among business users, it has been claimed.
According to IGEL Technologies, more firms are seeking the ability to communicate and collaborate over a number of platforms - such as VoIP and video conferencing.
"The importance of having efficient communication structures in place within companies is constantly increasing," the firm stated.
IGEL claimed that unified communications is "quite often a strategic factor in improving their competitiveness".
"Video conferences are now an indispensable tool for companies that have offices in many locations and team members distributed across them," it stated.
The firm noted that Microsoft Lync has become "well established" as a unified communications solution.
It said the solution offers a standardised user interface that combines voice communication, instant messaging as well as audio, video and web conferencing.
IGEL has integrated the Lync Optimisation Pack in a bid to meet the needs of customers using the Microsoft Lync infrastructure in Citrix environments on IGEL thin clients.
