A Runcorn-based housing trust claims to be at the forefront of the anywhere working revolution.
Employees at Halton Housing Trust are encouraged to use personal mobile devices for work, and take advantage of flexible working opportunities.
The trust says a number of technology solutions are being used in conjunction to mobilise the workforce, and allow employees to be as productive as possible.
Anywhere working was introduced three years ago, with new mobile working solutions gradually introduced since 2010.
Out of 280 staff, 75 now have tablet computers, allowing them to work from any location at any time.
A recent employee study found that 82 per cent of employees now spend less time commuting to work, and 96 per cent have witnessed an increase in productivity.
Lee Reevell, technical specialist at the trust, said he was not aware of any other similarly-sized organisation which uses so many technologies together to enable remote and flexible working.
“Staff ranging from operatives out on the road to welfare benefits advisors and higher management may soon have tailored tablets," he stated.
"This will help them carry out their diverse roles even more effectively. The future of remote working at the trust is endless and exciting.”
