Yet another higher educational institution is upgrading to cloud email services via Microsoft Office 365, it has been announced.
Across the Atlantic, the University of Kentucky Information Technology (UKIT) is planning a service migration for May 7th 2013 - after which students and staff will have access to the hosted productivity suite.
Students who currently have a Live@edu account will gain two separate accounts - a branded Microsoft Office 365 version and a personal Microsoft Account.
All existing email, contacts, files, and other personal information will migrate in the transition, ensuring continuity of service for users.
As well as email, a range of other Microsoft cloud tools and services will be made available to students at the uni - including SkyDrive, Messenger, and Office Web Apps.
Newer versions of Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook will be required for some users, enabling them to utilise Microsoft Office 365's communication and collaboration features.
The UKIT migration to Office 365 is just one example of how businesses, organisations and other bodies around the world are seeking to improve access of advanced online services and applications.
