I got my phone 19mths ago & was my first smart phone & have been really pleased with it. Didn't see the point of getting an expensive iphone although all my family have one. I still think mine is just as good. Easy to use, plenty of apps already on phone & battery life around 2 days, so whats not to like. Even my teenage granddaughter is hoping to go on to one soon Due an upgrade soon so will have to see what I decide on but will definitely be another Lumia

  • Compact, durable with great standard apps

I have dropped a mark for the ease of use down for two reasons: 1. The shape of the back of the phone means it does not sit in the hand ergonomically. 2. The touchscreen will occasionally refuse to 'swipe-up' to unlock. A quick press of the power button resolves this. The touchscreen doesn't have the responsize feel of, say, an iphone, and its small size can be awkward for typing. The swipe system is a help with that. Battery is pretty good, especially with later updates, but you can purchase a higher capacity one reasonably cheaply. Whilst looking a little bit plasticy, the phone is tough and durable. A dozen drops on to hard surfaces #see hand-holding complaint above# have testified to this.

Great mobile but appalling after sales service from Microsoft. I was advised that the damage was not covered by its warranty but was not told what was wrong with it? Bo feedback. I will certainly not replace this with another Nokia mobile.

The windows metro layout in Win 8 didn't make much sense on a laptop, coming from Win XP, but when I started using this phone it all suddenly came together. We are a multi OS household, Win 8.1, Linux, Mac OSX and iOS, android plus now windows phone 8.1. For the phone app windows is pretty good and using a Microsoft outlook account makes it all works together. Maps are excellent, here drive + beats all the others because you don't uses data on the road (unless you have traffic updates turned on, which uses minimal data anyway). Camera good for a phone of this price, and it make and receives calls and texts. Unless you are heavily into games and apps fits the bill very well. I would like it to talk to chromecast properly though, everything else we use can cast to the TV except win phones.

Poor battery life, screen is too small, slow processor, expensive and chunky. But I like windows 8 and 8.1 but still room for improvements. Hopefully windows 10 will provide us with everything we can do on a PC we can do on a smartphone. A decent recycle bin, drag and drop apps and ALL future lumia phones should have a decent weather app built in like with the iphones. All the essentials should be provided. In my opinion ALL lumias should have a 5 inch screen front and back camera, the go back, windows and search buttons should be lit up when the rest of the phone is lit up so don't need to guest where they are when it's dark, the front camera should be at least 5mp for those selfies, an LED flash and a camera shutter button. ALL of these on ALL lumias!! 5 inch screen not too big or small. Also improve the reliability of the calendar.

I was given a Windows Lumia 620 phone a couple of months ago, and I love it! The operating system is so much better than android. It is so responsive and intuitive and the screen is very clear. Plus, the sound is fabulous, especially when playing my music to and from work. I am going to upgrade to one of the newer Lumias, after Christmas.

  • Xperia Z to 620

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

Brilliant phone, I went from an expensive Xperia Z to 620, I was sick to the teeth of buggy andriod software and laggy phones and never getting updates for phone software if your current software was buggy it just seemed to be a like it or lump it attitude so I decided to have a look at a windows phone again, I had a HTZ Mozart back in 2010 and although it was great it was very early in the windows phone game so not many apps were there and the software was lacking in many departments, i looked at the 620 in the O2 shop and I was blown away by it and my god hasn't this operating system come on since win 7 and the app store really is getting good now, the 620 just glides through everything like it's got serious power under the hood, I find it annoying that my old Z with all that power could never play a game or use an app with out slowing down or being jerky in places. I will say the 620 really comes into it's own with the new 8.1 & Cyan update, so many more features and I love the wallpaper behind the tiles I love the way they have used parallax scrolling to give the home screen more depth, I've owned my 620 for a year now and it's constantly getting software updates like Amber to black and cyan and bug fixes, it's amazing to see so many updates and bug fixes because as an andriod user we were left in the dark, Microsoft / Nokia will make serious head way if they carry on with this level service it's brilliant! I certainly wont be going back to Andriod again when my contract ends I will be updating to the next crop of nokia windows phones. Some of the feature that make this phone excellent are good screen, touch to wake, eqilizer, dolby headphone, led flash, good camera, 8.1 & Cyan update, free Nokia Here Drive "which is really good", good app store, Cortana, good music & video player, 8.1 allowing for custom sms and ring tones for each contact, replaceable covers and headphone socket, sd slot, removable battery One thing to add, I heard the battery life was poor on this phone, well there is a fix for this, just use the battery out of the lumia 520 it fits this phone fine and battery life is considerably better because it's a 1430mAh

I been using this phone over 1 years and half so I been update to .8.1 windows and Cortana in UK. To tell you the truth you must be windows fans or wont able understand how to used all the feature and apps. I once a iphone fans and android fan but I changed my commitment and I like windows phone so my next phone is Nokia Lumia 930 on contract. I know why people moaning why!! If there want a gd phone why don't u get high street phone but more expensive. But since then I love this phone because it had more things to do and easy to use for know what to do. I already extended my battery live up to 13hours battery life by using battery savers.

  • This phone restored my faith in smartphones

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

The Nokia Lumia 620 is by far the best phone I have ever owned or came across! The phone is beautifully made and comes in fantastic colours. It fits comfortably in your hand and doesn't feel cheaply made like some smartphones tend to. The camera is great at first and then becomes simply amazing when you start to play around with all the available lenses and photo editing apps. Nokia Creative Studio is a firm favourite of mine, easy to use and absolutely fantastic! Nokia Glam Me is also particularly useful for getting the perfect selfie ;-# Fans of photography will adore this phone! Fhotoroom and Phototastic are two apps I would definitely recommend. Music lovers will also adore this phone! Nokia MixRadio is quite simply the best music service I have ever came across. You can listen to pre made playlists or create your own and you can also download for offline listening which is fantastic! This is all free or you can pay a small fee to be able to skip unlimited songs per hour #you get 6 song skips and hour with the free but just change playlists to reset this then change back to original playlist to start skipping again). I love this feature so much and my friends always ask why I have the best newest music on my phone even with no internet connection. The only thing I would improve is the battery life, but to be honest I am playing about with this phone at all available opportunities, so a day out of each charge doesn't really count as bad. Such an easy to use phone with amazing features. The storage on this phone is amazing and very easy to keep track of. The Windows App Store could use a bit more games but overall there is a good selection. Humpty Smash and Toy Story Smash It! are both really good free games that I would highly recommend. Overall the Nokia Apps are the best, with most of them taking up tiny amounts of storage. They all do exactly what they say and make the phone so much better to use. I would and do highly recommend this phone, especially if you enjoy music and photography and those sorts of features are important to you, Nokia has most definitely cracked it! It is beyond me why these phones are not everywhere. They work amazingly and are much cheaper than some ridiculously over priced competitors. I will never not have a Nokia Lumia now, there is no going back after this phone!

  • Would still buy over the new 630

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

My first windows phone having had android phones before. I bought as it's a good size and good hardware for the price, battery lasts me a few days depending on use which I am happy with. Really like the OS, far less restricting than I expected from a Nokia. Its great all wirelessly to my windows 8.1 laptop and sky drive means all photos/videos are auto loaded to hotmail and a folder on my laptop. The messaging apps integrate Facebook etc with texts which works well. As well as streaming to TV's over wifi; when on the same network. Just a few of the features I like. I came on here looking at the new 630 to see what it was like but it's bigger screen and more importantly lack of front camera for Skype put me off, don't understand why they would remove this on a newer model. This phone is great and you get most apps for it now, no reason to upgrade and I would actually still buy this one. In July (2014) it'll get the windows phone 8.1 update too so looking forward to some new features.

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

Had this phone for a year on a 2 year contract, had looked forward to a windows phone but have to say I'm extremely disapointed now I have one, the apps choice is nowhere near as comprehensive as my previous android phone, the battery life is atrocious, needs charging everyday even though I don't use any power hungry features and to cap it all after only 4 months it had to go back for a repair as the micro usb port kept pushing the charger conection out, it is now going back for the same thing as the only way to charge the thing was to sellotape the charger connecter to the phone. Can't wait for my contract to run out so that I can get a Samsung phone again and go back to android os.

The 'Other storage' problem reduces this phone to a piece of rubbish after about 6 months and it needs a factory reset to get it functioning in again. Recent updates have done nothing to address this. Get something else, not a Windows phone.

  • Could be good

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

The problem with this phone is the software. I'm a fan of Microsoft and I thought a Windows 8 experience on a handset would be great. It could be if a little effort went into it but in the end it comes a poor third behind Ios and Android. The lack of attention to detail is summed up by this review page - the rating buttons only work after banging the screen a few times (so ease of use should be 2 not 4). Added to this is the lack of apps. I thought when Microsoft took over Nokia they would address this issue but they haven't. The two good things about the 620 are the free navigation and the low price. But you get what you pay for - my wife just got an IPhone 4s and I'm jealous.

    Overall Rating

I brought this phone 18/1/2014 I loved it the first two days after perches after that I hated it!! The materials used are cheap and not fit for purpose, Moving onto the technical side, the phone constantly freeze's this was before anything was installed or plugged into other devices. It's a constant battle to unlock my phone so I can use it, the screen keeps dropping down. Using headphones is a nightmare you can listen to music up until the phone decides it wants to Blair music out and your unable to get the headphones to work no matter what you do. The call volume used to be so loud i had to turn it down, now I'm constantly frustrated as I can barely hear phone calls. Battery life is very poor!! You wouldn't be able to do much on your phone on a journey out of fear your battery would die. My partner also has this phone and is experiencing similar difficulties. This phone is very overpriced for such cheap quality, if you don't mind having a glitchy phone that is a battle to use almost every time you use it, this is the phone for you. if not save your money do your research and get a better quality phone. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE AT ALL!!
