After 2 years the battery is failing otherwise has always lasted the day. Camera is excellent as are the other things Nokia give you, sat nav is free and brilliant, and after the software updates I had no problems whatsoever. Does what I need it to very nicely. Easy to use and if set up how you like nothing is more than two taps away. 830 next I think.

Moving from an android phone, I found the Windows 8.1 operating a pleasant surprise. It looks nice with snazzy user interface transitions and it was a breeze to use with very consistent controls. The Nokia 820 itself is a good size to hold in the hand although maybe a bit heavier than I'd expected. Battery life on normal use seems fine. The main downside is unfortunately the lack of quality apps. Nokia's own apps are good and for most people these would be enough. However, power users may want to look elsewhere.

Although everyone raves about apps and that there are not enough for the window phones, who can use use all those apps out there. I have found that there are more than enough apps for all the important things that one has a phone for. The 820 is my first smartphone and my main gripe is the short battery life. To overcome that I bought a second battery which I keep fully charged and handy just in case. I love it. I have just ordered the 830. Why the 830 and not the 930? Because the memory is expandable and battery is removable on the 830 and not on the 930. Take note Microsoft.

After 2 years of constantly keeping my software up to date, phone resets/restarts my 820 will still not allow me to send or receive MMS messages which I regard as something pretty basic for any mobile phone. The Apps are fairly limited when compared to Apple and Android and many tend to seize up for no apparent reason. On top of this, recently the phone's screen went grey and would not recover, after several attempts to restart it I followed Nokia's advice and removed the back cover in order to take out the battery and restart my phone that way. While taking off the cover, following Nokia's own instructions, the screen cracked which is apparently not covered under the warranty. So after 10 years of brand loyalty I'm switching to something better made and more reliable!

I love this phone and bought it after buying a 520, which I also love. It is so easy to use and the camera is superb. It goes with me everywhere and, being disabled, is my lifeline. The only issue I have is that my flash does not work after the Amber update, after the Cyan it was the camera itself, which had to be replaced! Nokia need to look at these issues. Also, be aware that app developers have not caught up with WP market yet and many apps are incompatible with WP platform or do not give full functions (eg Viber and Line where video calling is not supported. Skype has this function).

I got the Nokia Lumia 820 after I decided to replace my older Nokia Lumia 800. Right from the start I was impressed with the phone, it was really easy to set up and all my data transferred easily from my old Lumia. The design of the phone is amazing, you can tell they actually thought about what would be better for the user, from the size of the screen to where they placed the camera. It's really fast, battery lasts all day, and the screen is really responsive! Love this phone, definitely won't be replacing it for a long time!

The Lumia 820 with Windows Phone 8 is amazing (and it is made even better with Windows Phone 8.1). The camera is lovely, the screen is vibrant (screen res could do with being higher) and having 4G + NFC is brilliant. The only problem I have is battery life which is extremely poor in my opinion.

I love my Lumia 820! This is just like any other Windows Phone in how good it is, and as it's so good I can only really write down some brief things: Pros: - 4.3" Screen - AMOLED Display - Dual-LED Flash - Wireless Charging - 8MP Carl Zeiss Camera (Great in sunlight, okay in low light# - Removable Battery - Micro SD Expansion Cons: - 480x800 Resolution - Almost a centimetre thick - 8GB Internal Storage - Heavy #160g) -

When I got those phone I was planning on buying a Lumia 920 but I was in Indonesia that year, and being Indonesia at the time the best Lumia they had was the 820. My previous phone had drowned in a rainstorm so I urgently needed a new phone and settled for the 820 and I haven't regretted a thing. OS: I have been using the Windows Phone OS for a few years now. Admittedly back with Windows Phone 7, there were no apps and that made it a difficult OS to like. These days people still talk about the app gap with Windows Phone 8/8.1... and they are wrong. The gap is almost no existent know, many companies are supporting WP8 now but if they aren't then there are third party version of the popular apps on other OSs and they are just as good, often they have more features than the original. My personal love of the OS is it's reliability, in 3 years using the OS I have never had it crash or freeze or any other issues, while friends with equivalent devices on other OSs are complaining on a regular basis. Hardware: It's an extremely well built product like all of Nokia's past phones. This one has been through a lot, I have dropped it and bashed it against things many times. From this abuse all there is to show for it is a small barely visible scratch on the screen and a compression mark on one corner of the case. Camera: It's not got the most megapixels in the world, only 8.7mp, but contrary to popular belief the amount of megapixels doesn't effect the photo nearly as much as how you actually use the camera. On that note, whilst I am out in the field, it's a great little compact camera if I need one quick and my DSLR isn't to hand. It is a great little phone, does everything I could want from a phone. I said in the beginning that I haven't regretted my purchase, and it's true. However, I have been contemplating a change but it would only be to a Lumia 1020 or 930. Windows and Nokia have me hooked, I cannot recommend Nokia Lumias enough!

I have had to Reset my 820 around twelve time now and it still freezes and plays up all the time . Switches itself off randomly and I am fed up wit the words "Sorry we can,t connect but we,re trying" All in all a waste of money and are currently looking at another type of Android phone AND network.

A bit slow but compact. Battery life is short and there aren't enough really good apps. The free Nokia route finder is brilliant though. Camera average. But as a "cheapish" phone it fits the bill.

What can i say, was hoping for Nokia bullet proof build quality. What do i get dust under the main screen. Do I put up with it, or trust in Nokia care and be without a phone for 2 weeks. Using a screen protector from day 1 just realised after taking it off that there is a finger print on the screen which doesn't rub off.

Lovely phone to use - I like it but would I recommend it - No. Why not ? One reason only - the ringtone volume control. You cannot lock the volume but you can, unknowningly, reduce it to zero and then miss calls. A stupid, stupid bit of design that completely ruins an otherwise great phone. Nokia unless you change this I won't be getting another one. Shame really as everything else is great.
