The management and monitoring of AlwaysOn is done through familiar and easy-to-use tools, further lowering operational costs.

In SQL Server 2012, AlwaysOn could be configured with up to four secondaries, which provided high availability and real time data sources for reporting and back-up that didn’t impact the core performance of the solution. With SQL Server 2014, this increased to eight secondaries to further enhance availability, data protection and performance. Hybrid scenarios can also be configured with SQL Server running in Microsoft Azure VMs for geo-redundancy without having to buy new hardware or find data center space.
