Scratch Programming
Scoil Mhichil Naofa - Galmoy - Co Kilkenny

Scratch is a programming language developed by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) specifically aimed at children to help provide them with an exposure to programming in a child-centered way and through a number of characters or avatars with whom they can actively engage with. The children are set a task and then have to decide for themselves how to break it down into individual components allowing them to complete computer programme. Without saying much more you can instantly recognise the benefit computer programming could have in helping children improve their Maths problem solving skills as they use the "life skills" they gain here to allow them approach all maths problems from a different perspective.
