Microsoft names new GM for its India IT
Microsoft has appointed Brajesh Katare as General Manager of Microsoft IT India, one of the largest IT operations center outside of Microsoft headquarters in Redmond. Brajesh began his career with Microsoft in 1999 and held several leadership positions in Microsoft Services, Microsoft IT and Entertainment & Devices division. He was the founding member of establishing Microsoft IT’s operations in Hyderabad, India in 2002. After 26+ years in the United States, Brajesh relocated to India in 2016 as General Manager of Microsoft-IT.

Microsoft concludes build the Shield 2016
Microsoft has recently concluded the third edition of its national level security contest, Build the Shield. The ‘Build The Shield’ contest is Microsoft’s challenging engagement with young minds who must battle complex security threats with innovative solutions. In its third edition, the nationwide contest witnessed great ideas and competition.
Earlier this year to invite graduate and under-graduate students across the country to build strong computer security shields. The online qualifying rounds took place on January 30 and 31, 2016 with more than 300 teams and over 1,200 students presenting themselves for the challenge. Two teams from Indian Institute of Technology (Roorkee) bagged first and second positions while Indian Institute of Technology (Mumbai) stood third in the national level hacking contest, Build The Shield 2016.
