Note: Before you download SR-2b, you need to install Office 97 Service Release 1 (SR1).

To install this download
- You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are
offline.
- Download Service Release 2b. When the File Download dialog box
displays, Internet Explorer 4.01 users should choose Save this file to disk.
- Double-click the sr2bof97.exe program file on your hard disk to
start the Setup program.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. The
installation process requires you to enter the Product ID Number from one
of the Office programs installed on your computer. The number can be found by
choosing Help on the menu of any Office 97 application, and then
clicking on About >your product name.

- If you installed the Word 97 Template Security Patch or the Forms 2.0
Control Security Patch, you must reinstall them after installing the Service
Release 2b.
Instructions for use:
Once the installation is complete, your system files will be updated.
To remove this download:The Office 97 Service Release 2b cannot be uninstalled or removed. The SR-2b
patch updates files within your operating system, and therefore cannot be
removed manually. In order to return your Office files to their previous state,
you must uninstall Office and then re-install it.
- On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the list of currently installed programs, select [program name] and then click Remove or Add/Remove. If a dialog box appears, follow the instructions to remove the program.
- Click Yes or OK to confirm that you want to remove the program.
