With more than 600 people drawing reports from Quotable Value’s (QV) integrated valuation system (QIVS II) spanning QV and 60 of New Zealand’s 74 city and district councils, the delivery, accuracy and cost of reporting forms a significant part of QV’s business both in New Zealand and in Australia.

When Microsoft announced that it was launching a Reporting Services tool as part of Microsoft SQL Server at no additional licensing cost, and with a bill of more than $75,000 looming from Crystal Enterprises, QV started down the road of finding out more.

Even in the early beta stage the company was impressed and has confidently rolled out version one of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. QV has achieved a 100% return on investment within three months.

In a New Zealand first, QV is using SQL Server Reporting Services to extend its customer offering via a secure and authenticated Extranet site.
