You can add Windows Azure worker role nodes to your Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 cluster that has been upgraded to Service Pack 1 (SP1). Addng the worker nodes requires a worker node template that specifies a connection to an existing subscription for Windows Azure in addition to an availability policy for the worker nodes. After worker nodes are added to the cluster, you can start them, which provisions the Windows Azure role instances, and then bring them online to run HPC cluster jobs. This guide provides step-by-step procedures for deploying Windows Azure worker role nodes in a Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 cluster that has been upgraded to Service Pack 1.
