The XMI Export component exports a Visio UML model to an XML file compliant with the XMI standard. Third party applications can then access UML elements' properties through standard XML parsing techniques. The supported UML elements include most of the static structure (class) diagram elements, the component element, and the node element.

To download these files, click Download, read and accept the license agreement by clicking Yes, and then click Open.
To install the XMI export facility, copy the XMIExport.dll file to Visio's DLL directory named (Visio Installation path) DLL.
The attached XMISample.zip archived file contains a sample application in Microsoft Visual C++® that shows the usage of this feature. The explanations are in the Readme.txt file.
