      The Commerce Server Profiles System is a very flexible system that allows user profile information to span across various data sources such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Active Directory service. A common requirement in complex e-commerce implementations is to extend Commerce Server profiles with external data sources not directly supported by the Commerce Server Profiles System. The following are a few examples of such scenarios:
      • User profile information shared between Commerce Server and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS)
      • User profile information shared between Commerce Server and SAP
      The following article provides a design to do the above-mentioned extension. This article also illustrates the use of operation sequence components to do such extensions.
