        Windows® Embedded NavReady™ , the first category specific offering from Windows Embedded, helps bring down the cost of development by providing OEMs with innovative technologies to help build portable navigation devices that can easily connect to online services, Bluetooth capable phones, Windows-based PCs and the internet.
        Many devices built on Windows Embedded NavReady will be able to connect to most Bluetooth phones and function as a hands-free device. They will also be able to easily perform LIVE SEARCH queries and find up-to-date point of interested information. With Windows Embedded NavReady Microsoft delivers key technologies to OEMs to power the next generation of Smart, Connected, Service Oriented portable navigation devices.
    • Supported Operating System

      Windows CE

        To use Windows Embedded NavReady, you need:
        • Platform Builder for Windows CE 5.0 with ARM processor support
        • 400-MHz Pentium II or later processor; 1-GHz processor recommended
        • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 or later, or Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 or later
        • Microsoft .NET Framework, version 1.1
        • 256 MB of RAM; 512 MB of RAM recommended
        • 50 MB of available hard-disk space
        • VGA or higher-resolution monitor; Super VGA recommended
        • Microsoft Mouse or similar pointing device
        • Serial port or Ethernet card for debugging support; a LAN hub is recommended
      • Instructions
        To install Windows Embedded NavReady, you must have administrative privileges.

        1. Download the following files to the same location/directory:
        • CE_1.cab
        • Windows Embedded NavReady.msi
        • Windows Embedded NavReady Release Notes.htm
        • Windows Embedded NavReady_License.rtf
        2. Run Windows Embedded NavReady.msi and follow the onscreen instructions.

        Important Note: You will need to download all the appropriate updates based on the operating system support you have included with your Windows CE 5.0 installation.

        An easy way to determine which CPU support you have is to browse to <WINCEROOT>\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\LIB and see which CPU folders are listed. To add additional CPU support at a later time, the feature pack will be automatically included but you will need to manually download and install the latest updates for any newly added CPUs.
