The Adoption Reporting Tool for Microsoft® Office Communications Server 2007 R2 is a tool provided by Microsoft® that enables Office Communications Server administrators to easily measure usage and adoption of Office Communications Server 2007 R2 in their enterprise.
    • Supported Operating System

      Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-Bit x86), Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 editions, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista Service Pack 1

Note: The Adoption Reporting Tool must be installed and run on the same operating systems as the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 administrative tools.

        • The Adoption Reporting Tool V1.0 is supported on Office Communications Server 2007 R2 and works with the versions of Microsoft® SQL Server® database software that Office Communications Server 2007 R2 supports, which are as follows:

          • Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 (32-bit or 64-bit edition)
          • Microsoft® SQL Server® 2005 with SP2 (32-bit or 64-bit edition)

        • To get reports from the Adoption Reporting Tool, Monitoring Server must be installed, and call detail recording (CDR) must be enabled. It is recommended, but not required, that CDR is enabled for all Office Communications Server pools.

        • Note: If the Monitoring Server is not installed and/or the CDR database does not exist, the Adoption Reporting Tool will run, but no data will be displayed in the reports.

        • The Adoption Reporting Tool requires the following components (these are not automatically installed by the Adoption Reporting Tool):
          • Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) classes for Office Communications Server 2007 R2 (installed with the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 administrative tools)
          • Microsoft®.Net Framework 3.5
      • Download and then run the OCSAdoptionTool.msi. The Adoption Reporting Tool installs through a standard installation script and must be installed on a computer that meets all of the requirements. (See the Installation Requirements section.) The installation script is called:

          OCSAdoptionTool.msi

By default, the Adoption Reporting Tool is installed in the following directory:

          %PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2\Adoption Tool

Or for 64 bit systems, in:

          %PROGRAMFILES(x86)%\Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2\Adoption Tool

For additional instruction on using the Adoption Reporting Tool, open the OCSAdoptionTool-readme.htm file that is installed with the Adoption Tool, and click the link for more information about the tool.
