Quick Start is an easy-to-read tutorial, created in PowerPoint®, that quickly teaches you the fundamentals of using PowerPoint. It is designed to help you get up and running quickly and save you time when you create presentations. Quick Start contains a guided tour of PowerPoint features as well as some tips and tricks to help you get the most out of PowerPoint.

To install this download

  1. You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are offline.
  2. Download the file from this page by clicking the Download link above and following the instructions in the dialog boxes.
  3. Close any open Microsoft Windows® applications
  4. Double-click the ppttut.exe program file on your hard disk to start the Setup program.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.


Instructions for use:

On your computer, go to the folder the file was installed (by default >drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\), and double-click on Quikstrt.pps to begin running it. Then follow the instructions displayed on the screen to go through the tutorial.

To remove this download:

  1. From the Start menu, point to the Settings entry, and choose Control Panel. Double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
  2. In the list on the Install/Uninstall tab, find the entry Microsoft PowerPoint Tutorial (Remove Only), and highlight it. Click Add/Remove.
  3. When it asks you if you are sure you want to remove the application, click Yes.
  4. When it finishes removing the program, click OK on the confirmation dialog box.
