      Microsoft Consolidation Planning Tool for SQL Server (CPT) is an Excel Add-in that can help customers identify which source servers can be consolidated onto a given set of destination servers based on major resource consumption such as CPU and memory. This will help eliminate the laborious manual work required for consolidation planning and it will provide an accurate and scientifically calculated recommendations to enable customers to make an informative decision before purchasing hardware or optimizing the current deployment solution. (The tool assumes the user will run Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit (MAP toolkit) first to obtain resource consumption data.)

      • This component requires Microsoft Excel 2007 or later be loaded on the client Machine
