      The guide is organized as follows:

      • Reasons to undertake an A&D project. Chapter 2 discusses the need for modernization. It explains how assessment and discovery can help to meet these challenges and why vendors may be needed to provide the best quality information.
      • Review by assessment and discovery experts. Chapters 3-8 are devoted to six top A&D vendors. Each chapter provides information about a vendor’s services, tools, and methodology that enterprises can use to implement an A&D project for their mainframe environments. The six expert vendors are: BluePhoenix Solutions, Cognizant Technologies, Fujitsu Consulting, Infosys Technologies Ltd., Micro Focus, and Microsoft Consulting Services.
