Overview

In many Eastern European countries, when documents created in Word 95 or earlier were opened into Word 2000, text within the document sometimes did not display or print correctly. Due to font- and character-mapping issues, some fonts displayed and printed certain characters as boxes instead of the correct characters. Note that this rarely happened to documents created in the US English versions of Word.

To be sure that your document is all right even though it is not displaying or printing correctly, this Word 2000 macro converts the fonts in the document (or the selected text) to Arial. By converting the text to a different font you can quickly scan and determine if the text is distorted in any way.

If you often view documents created in both an earlier version and another language version of Word, this tool may be of use to you.
