This white paper discusses the factors that can affect performance of parallel applications in a Windows HPC cluster. The paper's goal is to help identify the interconnect hardware to choose for your cluster and to explain how to tune that interconnect and software stack for your application and needs. It discusses criteria, considerations and techniques for evaluating performance of parallel applications (including message-intesive, embarassingly parallel, and SOA), and discusses performance tuning tools and methods.
