      We are pleased to announce that the Microsoft LightSwitch HTML Client Preview for Visual Studio 2012 is now available for download. The preview provides an early look at our upcoming support for building cross-browser, mobile web clients with LightSwitch in Visual Studio 2012. The new HTML5 and JavaScript-based client is an important companion to our Silverlight-based desktop client that addresses the increasing need to build touch-oriented business applications that run well on modern mobile devices.

      With this download you will be able to set up a Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) for evaluation purposes that contains all you need to build, publish, and run touch-centric business applications using LightSwitch. The VHD contains a tutorial to help guide you through the available features.
  • Supported Operating System

    Windows 7, Windows 8 Release Preview, Windows Server 2008 R2

      • Windows 7 (64-bit verisons) - Native boot form VHD
      • Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64), Windows 8 Release Preview (x64) - Hyper-V Virtual Machine
      • Require Hard Disk Space: 50 GB
      1. Download all parts of the self-extracting EXE to your local machine
      2. Run the executable
      3. Follow the instructions in the “Get Started” document that accompanies the VHD image
        1. For Windows Server 2008 R2 Users you can turn on the XPS Viewer from your Server Manager Feature list
