Apps can be installed without requiring a connection to the corporate network. Users can also add their personal computers and devices to the service and locate contact information for their IT team.

The Windows Intune Company Portal app is available from the Windows Store to allow end users to download and install the app to their own device. It is available from the Download Center to allow administrators to deploy the app to end users who do not have access to the Windows Store.

IMPORTANT: Use of this software requires an organizational account and connectivity to the company’s valid subscription to Windows Intune™. Updates to the service may be required for proper performance. Some functionality may not be available in all countries. See the Windows Intune Privacy Policy (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=316996).

    • When not installed directly from the Windows Store, installation of the Company Portal app requires sideloading keys on target machines. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=290705 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=290705) for details on how to deploy sideloading keys.

Once sideloading keys have been installed on target machines, the following steps can be used to manually deploy the Company Portal to these machines:
      • Download the CompanyPortal.appx file from the Download Center and place it on an accessible share or folder (‹path›)
      • From an elevated command line, run the following command:
        • Powershell add-appxpackage –path “‹path›”
      • Verify that the “Company Portal” tile is available on in the app list on the target machine (on Windows 8 or Windows RT devices a tile will be created on the Start screen automatically)

Providing the Powershell command above is initiated from an elevated script and the .appx file is accessible, other deployment options may be relevant in your company.
