The Windows Identity Foundation SDK provides templates for use with Visual Studio and code samples. This download requires the Windows Identity Foundation runtime be present.

Supported Operating System
Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, Windows Vista
- Windows Identity Foundation or Windows Identity Foundation for Windows 2003
- Microsoft® Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5, 7.0 or 6.0
- Microsoft® .NET Framework 3.5 or 4.0
- Visual Studio 2008 or 2010

The Windows Identity Foundation SDK is appropriate for all supported operating systems and CPU architectures. Download the 3.5 version for Visual Studio 2008 and .NET 3.5, the 4.0 version for Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0.
Note: Side by side installation of the WIF 3.5 and 4.0 SDKs is not recommended. Visual Studio templates will be properly installed for side by side installations of Visual Studio 2008 and 2010, the included samples will not work in such a configuration without modification.
Localized versions only available for 3.5 at this time.
