Microsoft recommends you install this newer version of Windows SharePoint Services with SP2 for new installations. Please note that Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 with SP1 is the minimum requirement in order to install on Windows Server 2008. This white paper contains important installation steps and procedures that you must perform to ensure a successful deployment. Caution: If you do not follow the instructions in this white paper, your configuration of Windows Small Business Server 2003 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 may not function properly or might not be supported.

        To install this download:
        1. Download the file by clicking the Download button (above) and saving the file to your hard disk.
        2. Double-click the SharePoint.exe program file on your hard disk to start the Setup program.
        3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

        To remove this download:
        1. On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
        2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
        3. In the list of currently installed programs, select Windows SharePoint Services and then click Remove or Add/Remove. If a dialog box appears, follow the instructions to remove the program.
        4. Click Yes or OK to confirm that you want to remove the program.
