        This download package addresses the issues that are fixed in the Data Protection Manager 2007 hotfix (KB 225046) rollup package version = 2.0.8868.0

        This hotfix rollup resolves the following issues:
        • Data Protection Manager does not encrypt data during a Recover to Tape operation, and always compresses backups to tape.
        • When you change the ports that are used by the DPMRA service, recovery jobs can fail.
        • When an Integrity Check is run, a data corruption warning will be raised.
        • Backup fails because of intermittent file failures or when unsupported file types are present in the data source.
        • On Windows Server 2008 or later server, Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Windows Disk Management snap-in takes very long time to show the volumes and the disk when Data Protection Manager is running on the server. The Windows Disk Management snap-in shows disks and volumes as soon as the Data Protection Manager service is stopped.

      • This Data Protection Manager 2007 rollup package consists of three separate updates. To install each update, follow these steps:
        1. Install the rollup package on the server that is running Data Protection Manager 2007 Service Pack 1. To do this, run the DataProtectionManager2007-KB2250436.exe file on the server.

          Note You must restart [Change to You might have to restart] the Data Protection Manager server after you install this rollup package.
        2. Update the remote Microsoft SQL Server installation that is hosting the DPMDB database. To do this, run the SqlPrep-KB2250436.msp file on the computer that is running SQL Server.

          Note This step is not required if you are running a SQL Server DPMDB instance on the Data Protection Manager 2007 server.
        3. In the DPM Administrator Console, update the protection agents. To do this, use one of the following methods:
          • Method 1: Update the protection agents from the DPM Administrator Console
            • Open the DPM Administrator Console.
            • Click the Management tab, and then click the Agents tab.
            • Select a computer from the Protected Computer list, and then click Update on the Action pane.
            • Click Yes, and then click Update Agents.
            • When you receive the Enter Credentials and Reboot option dialog box, enter your credentials, select the Manually restart the selected servers later option, and then click OK.
              Note You do not have to restart the computer to update the agent. This is why the Manually restart the selected servers later option was selected.
          • Method 2: Update the protection agents on the protected computers
            • Obtain the update protection agent package from the "Data Protection Manager installation location\DPM\Agents\RA\2.0.8868.0" directory on the Data Protection Manager 2007 server.
              • For x86-based updates: i386\1033[make it language ID] \DPMAgentInstaller_KB2250436.exe
              • For x64-based updates: amd64\1033[make it language ID] \DPMAgentInstaller_KB2250436_AMD64.exe

              Note The DPMAgentInstaller.exe package applies to all languages.
            • Run the appropriate DPMAgentInstaller.exe package on each protected computer.
            • Open the DPM Administrator Console on the Data Protection Manager 2007 server.
            • Click the Management tab, and then click the Agents tab.
            • Select the protected computers, and then verify that the agent version is listed as 2.0.8868.0.
        4. Update the DPM Management Shell. To do this, run DPMManagementShell2007-KB2250436.msp file on all computers on which the DPM Management Shell is installed. This step is not required if you are running the Data Protection Manager Management Shell on the Data Protection Manager 2007 server] Run the DPMManagementShell2007-KB2250436.msp file.
          Note This step is not required if you are running the Data Protection Manager Management Shell on the Data Protection Manager 2007 server.

        Restart information
        If the DPM Management Shell is open when you install the hotfix rollup package, you must restart the computer. Otherwise, a restart is not required.
