The Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) Programming Language specification defines the implementation-independent and operating-system-independent programming language that must be supported by all conforming VBA implementations. It defines all features and behaviors of the language that must exist and behave identically in all conforming implementations.

The Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) computer programming language is intended to be used in conjunction with a host software application such as a word processor. In such a situation, the end-user of a host application uses the VBA language to write programs that may access and control the host application’s data and functionality. VBA is used within Microsoft Office for this purpose.

Windows Vista, Windows XP Service Pack 2

The language specifications are available in the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) which you can open using Adobe Reader, available at http://www.adobe.com.

Note: For optimal readability of the PDF documents, it is recommended that they be opened and viewed by using Adobe Reader 8.0. Earlier versions of Adobe Reader might not provide the same reading quality.
      • Individual PDF files should be stored in a single directory to enable links between the files. Note that if you download additional PDF documents from Microsoft, they should also be stored in the same directory to enable linking.

      • Audience
