As an IT Academy member, you may be entitled to lab licenses for Microsoft software to use in your institution’s computer labs. You may also qualify for DreamSpark and TechNet subscriptions that you can use to evaluate and familiarize yourself with Microsoft products and technologies. Get Lab Licenses for Your Computer Lab

Microsoft IT Academy members can request lab licenses for Microsoft products as follows. Such products are limited to lab use only.

IT Academy membership includes up to 100 licenses for:

  • Windows 7 Professional

  • Microsoft Office Professional 2007

  • Microsoft Office Professional Academic 2010*

*The licensing agreement for the Microsoft Office suite includes the following Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote, Outlook, and Publisher.

Note Institutions that subscribe to the Microsoft IT Academy Program through a Microsoft Campus Agreement or a Microsoft School Agreement obtain product licenses through those agreements. Products and services licensed through these agreements may be used in labs.

Get Software Through a DreamSpark Subscription

Microsoft IT Academy Program members are entitled to one DreamSpark subscription. DreamSpark is the easiest and least expensive way for students and educators in technology and design fields to get the latest Microsoft software that they need. Available to any accredited institution, DreamSpark offers an institution-wide annual membership providing professional developer and designer tools available in labs, classrooms, and on student PC’s.

Note DreamSpark Premium subscription is only available to educators specializing in science, technology, engineering, math, and design (STEM-D) topics.

    Make professional developer and designer tools available in labs, classrooms, and on student PCs. DreamSpark is an institution-wide annual membership available to any accredited institution.

Note Institutions that subscribe to the Microsoft IT Academy Program through a Microsoft Campus Agreement or a Microsoft School Agreement are entitled to one complimentary DreamSpark membership.

Expand Your Professional Development with a TechNet Subscription

Microsoft IT Academy members receive one Not For Resale (NFR) version of Microsoft TechNet Subscription Professional.1 TechNet Subscriptions provide a wealth of resources for students mastering IT professional concepts and skills and for educators seeking to expand their professional development. Updates with the latest authoritative technical information on Microsoft solutions, straight from the source, help ensure that your IT Academy students and educators have the same information that practicing IT professionals have. Keep your skills up to date and industry-relevant by incorporating the rich selection of classroom resources and services available from TechNet Subscriptions.

The NFR version of TechNet Subscription Professional includes the following benefits:

  • Microsoft software licensed for evaluation purposes. Evaluate full-version retail products without time or feature limits, including Microsoft operating systems, servers, and Microsoft Office programs. With full-version software, you can make informed decisions about new technologies and deployments at your own pace.

  • Beta software. Receive pre-release versions of Microsoft operating systems, servers, and business applications.2

  • Priority support in TechNet forums. Receive unlimited access to managed forums. Exchange ideas with other IT professionals and get expert answers to your technical questions within two business days.

*1The NFR version of TechNet Subscription Professional does not include technical support calls. This version is available only for an initial 12-month subscription period and may not be purchased.
