Very flexible phone. You can change the battery and upgrade the memory which enables you to get another year of use out of it before having to upgrade. Conservative look.

  • Best phone I've had yet!

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

I love this phone! I've had it for a little over 3 years and it is still going strong. I'm trying to find another Microsoft phone that is compatible with this. I'm hoping the new Lumia 640XL that I would love to get is as good, if not better, than the 810. I have never had a dropped call, I can look up things online within seconds, and the pictures it takes are fantastic! Also, the Kid's Corner is fantastic too! My daughter plays on it multiple times a day. This phone is absolutely fantastic!

  • This phone and Windows Phone has great potential!

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

With Nokia 810, my first Windows Phone, I became very impressed with Windows 8 interface (more with the phone than computer, but that is a different story). I find the here maps navigation superior to Android or iPhone, great camera, among other features! However, marketing needs to improve therefore allowing more apps to be available and better support! That last one is a big one, especially with this 810 as T-Mobile only supported it for something like 8 months and Nokia nor Windows did a very good job and listening to my feedback a year ago! Though I don't expect much response to this one either, but try and improve on these last points when you release Windows 10 Phones and don't downgrade with new phones like you did with Lumia line! Lumia's latest 635 got better publicity and marketing than the 810, 925 & even the 1020 which where far superior! Though I can see it being a tough market when you enter it late after Android and iPhone conquered it from the beginning! Good luck formerly Nokia, now Windows Lumia!

  • The Perfect Phone (for Me)

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

When this phone first came out, all the (pro) reviewers noted how "ugly" and "heavy" it was. Whatever. The design is elegantly simple. The phone is the right size for most hands. The back case is soft to the touch and slightly grippy. The weight is PERFECT (substantial without being heavy; basically, you feel like you're actually holding a functional object). The screen is well-sized, responsive, and crystal clear. I'm not an app addict, so the smaller range of offerings on Windows Phone hasn't been much of an issue. And the Nokia apps are some of the best I've ever used; the driving GPS, public transit mapper, and music player are standouts. But more importantly, the WP 8 OS is simply a dream to operate. So intuitive, smooth, and stable. I think the phone has hung/crashed maybe twice in as many years. Compare that to my previous Android OS phone, which glitched out -- in some way or another -- roughly once a day! I don't typically get attached to gadgets, but I am not going to be happy when I have to eventually replace this one. At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, I want this to be my phone forever. That's why I'm bothering to write a review for a two-year old phone that isn't even offered by my carrier anymore (TMobile); maybe someone at Nokia/MS will read this (and all the other glowing reviews) and consider releasing a newer model with a similar aesthetic and build quality. PLEASE?

  • still satisfied a yr later!

    Overall Rating

So i'm not one to follow the fads as most do with the yearly upgraded iPhones and Samsung galaxies. But instead I rely on customer reviews until enough of them make me confident enough to purchase. Well this device was even better than I thought it wud be! My 1st test was streaming YouTube. I was so pleased to see videos playing with such a crisp clean picture, not all pixelized like crazy, no buffer, just flowy streaming hd video as if I'm watching cable on a handheld flatscreen! And the sound is as beautiful and loud as u want it to be on a smart phone knocking out all competition! I hooked it up to my car and I was even more pleased as the Dolby surround eq allows any sound u cud possibly dream of. Call quality is flawless and my calls don't drop n mid convo as they once did on my previous zte. My favorite music app plays w/ ease so long as I don't use up my data. This is more than I cud say for ANY of my previous smart phones so I am still so ecstatic abt this!X) But even so, when I use up my data and I have to wait that week for it to replenish, I can still stay n the loop on the hottest new music using the Nokia music app! The GPS gets me where I need to go although it did take some getting used to. U may pass your destination as it tells u you've arrived but doesn't reiterate that address you've input so drive slow when u get close. And then, as some hav a hard time dealing w/, comes the windows app store. There's some knockoff android apps and then there's some actual windows phone versions that are just as good if not better! We just got candycrush and while I'm disappointed that for some reason it won't download, I hav managed this far so I'm pretty sure I'll survive:P Navigating through my phone is a breeze. When I touch the screen it does what I want when I want. Not milliseconds later. Pictures are crisp and clear. I feel like my camera makes me look even more beautiful than n person lbs! I do wonder y when I play bak recorded video it seems to skip through in weird increments but it cud b viruses from a number of sights visited throughout the yr. Mabey even I cud use a new SD card. But all n all I fricken love this phone! If someone can't get a good selfie of us im like 'here, lets use my phone'. If someone's battery has died ofcourse mine is still alive. If google maps doesn't know wat wer talkin abt, heredrive can still get us there. And if someone's music app won't stop buffering, my Nokia music app can still soothe our soul. I'm on a family mobile plan having switched from being a long time boost mobile customer and I live in the city. Everywhere I go I get the same speed and quality. I can't complain at all the pros outweigh the cons greatly and I'm just so happy to hav come across this phone in my previous research. A yr later now I'm looking to upgrade myself to mabey a thinner Nokia Lumia. I'm just nervous to lose the same quality I found n this miracle device. But if all else fails I'll still keep this one w/in reach!!

  • The Dumbest "Smart" Phone

    Overall Rating

This phone doesn't have some key features. Here are few things I miss in this phone. 1) No over the air software updates. 2) No Wifi calling capability. 3) No custom call forwarding when busy. (My Samsung flip phone from 2006 has this feature.)

This was the best Windows phone offered through T-Mobile, so I grabbed it day one. The phone is tough, intuitive, and everything I want in a phone. Then updates started being released. somehow everyone forgot my phone exists. No Cortana for me, for no apparent reason. Really weird way for Microsoft to reward me for being a loyalist and early adopter of the windows phone.

Very intuitive to use and set up. Syncs perfectly with my desktop and my Bluetooth speakers. Although screen is not HD still provides clear picture for movie watching which I have stored on SD card. This phone has so much more to offer if it wasn't for T-Mobile blocking Cyan update......not sure I understand why they do that and I hope they just make it happen!!!

It's a capable phone and it is cheap now. If you're looking for a cheap WP phone for the tmo/wind/Mobilicity network, this can be it. All I remember from using this phone is that the amoled screen is nice and it feels good in the hand... But the body and bezel are just too large for a phone with these specs. But ya know, it's an oldie now.

  • Great Midrange Windows Phone

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

I switched from a company provided Blackberry phone to a Bring-Your-Own-Device Windows Phone. I selected the Nokia Lumia 810 from T-Mobile. While I have since moved on to yet another Windows Phone, I found the 810 to be a very nice phone. It was a great foray into the Windows Phone experience, that I could use for both work and personal. Key drawbacks were lack of LTE support (though it did have T-Mobile's 3.5G service), camera image stabilization, and then there was the unfortunate end of life status by T-Mobile, meaning that the phone will not receive updates beyond GDR2 despite this model being sold to customers less than a year before T-Mobile's support suspension.. And so no WP8.1 either. Of course, there is the Microsoft Developer option, but at the time this was not free. Overall, it was a great phone experience but not a great carrier experience. My rating reflects poor performance by T-Mobile, which is fair given this was a T-Mobile exclusive model.

Love the phone and the all the features. Very easy to use, great camera, robust (never crashed), and great battery life. Upset at the fact that T-Mobile will not upgrade phone to Windows 8.1. Due to this fact I would not recommend it although this is a fantastic phone.

I was initially attracted to the Lumia 810 by its sleek edge-to-edge glass front and sharp crisp display. Since I've started using it, I find it to be very intuitive, fast and great to hold. Nokia Music sounds great with my headphones and I never worry about running out of power. I purchased an optional windshield mount and use Here Drive+ to get around and it works perfectly. The bundled Nokia apps are very good and I especially like HERE Transit which works worldwide. All in all, a terrific phone which undoubtedly will be made even better with WP 8.1

    Overall Rating
    ★★★★★ ★★★★★

Okay phone but cannot get anything off the darn thing because Nokia in it's wisdom (or wisdum) dicided if you wanted to use it's Windows 8 phone you must also want to buy a new Windows 8 PC or that latest Mac running the latest OS. I have a MacBook and it won't download the app for this because my Mac OS is to "old". I have a Vista PC which recognizes the phone, but just displays an empty folder - like the phone has absolutely nothing on it. The communicator I had back in the day was great and easy to use with Nokia's software. This is no where near that experience and is making me regret ever gonig back to a Nokia.
