Why can my Nokia device connect to my unsecured MS Exchange server but the Mail for Exchange client does not synchronize any data?

After setup the Mail for Exchange (MfE), the port settings need to be modified by doing the following (for example on the Nokia E75 device):

  1. Open the Email client (Menu > Email).
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Mail For Exchange.
  4. Select Mailbox.
  5. Select Adv. mailbox settings.
  6. Select Secure connections.
  7. Change to No.
  8. Select Port Number.
  9. change to 80 (default value), or the number given to you by your Exchange administrator.
  10. Select Back

Your device should now synchronize correctly using the standard unsecured port 80, or the port number that was given to you by your Exchange administrator.
