Nokia Lumia 928 - My Lumia phone cannot connect to the internet using Wi-Fi

To determine whether the network is OK, try and connect to the Wi-Fi network using another device. If other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi network, can you connect to another network/device (for example using its internet sharing). If so the network is at fault, If you cannot connect to any network, restart your phone and check if you have resolved your issue. If not, continue troubleshooting with the steps below:

On your phone

  1. Switch Battery saver mode off, or connect a charger to your phone (Settings > battery saver).
  2. Tap Settings > Bluetooth and switch the status temporarily to Off.
  3. Delete the non-functioning Wi-Fi network and connect it again: Go to Settings > WiFi > manage (advanced). Under Known networks, tap and hold on the network name and select Delete. Tap back and select the network from the list.
  4. Check if there is new software available for your phone: Tap Settings > phone update.

On your home Wi-Fi network

  1. Restart your router (some routers should be switched off for 2 minutes periodically to allow for background updates).
  2. Check the Wi-Fi password. If you keep getting an Incorrect password error, log in to your wireless router, and change the operating mode 802.11b/g/n to 802.11g only, and then restart/reset the router, and try to create a connection again.
  3. Disable other active network services such as video streaming and online games.
  4. Check on the router's support page that it has the latest firmware installed.
