Halo franchise debuts on Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8

Enlist in “Halo: Spartan Assault,” a new top-down shooter, and battle in never-before-played missions in the Halo universe.

Available now for $6.99[1] only on Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8[2], “Halo: Spartan Assault” is a new top-down shooter optimized for Windows 8 touch-based devices.

Taking place between “Halo 3” and “Halo 4,” this installment takes single-player combatants into a new war with the Covenant that spans the first 25 missions of the Spartan Ops program. Players can also take on Weekly Challenges or friends, while collecting more than 40 in-game Achievements and Medals. Attendees at Comic-Con International in San Diego can check it out at the Xbox Lounge.
