SEATTLE, Wash. -- Aug. 29, 2003 -- Today in Seattle, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced the arrest of an individual allegedly responsible for the Blaster Virus.

The arrest announced today demonstrates how important it is for governments and the private sector to work closely together to protect the global IT infrastructure. This arrest also serves as a reminder that it is a crime to distribute viruses with the intent to cause damage. We also recognize that protecting computers requires more than just cooperation with law enforcement, but truly a partnership between us and our customers.
