Deployment guidance and tools
Microsoft Online Deployment Guide (MODG) is guidance developed by Microsoft Premier Deployment (MPD) based on their customer deployments, and incorporates best practices for Office 365 deployments. A web edition of the deployment guide is also available.
In addition, the Office 365 Deployment Readiness Tool beta has been released that provides analysis of a customer’s on-premises environment in preparation for an Office 365 enterprise deployment. The readiness tool is integrated with the guidance provided in the web edition of the Microsoft Office 365 Deployment Guide.
Deployment training
The MPD team has also developed a three-day instructor-led program to train partners on deployments. The training is delivered by members of the MPD team who have been involved in deploying customers. Partners can register for these training events here.
Deployment support
The MPD team also provides assistance to partners during their actual deployment engagements based on the size of their deal:
Up to 40 hours for each deal from 500 through 2,400 seats (three deals maximum per partner).
Up to 160 hours for each deal greater than 2,400 seats (three deals maximum per partner).

Recommended deployment partners
Based on the guidance, training, and deployment support provided to partners, we expect the partners to develop expertise in deploying customers to Office 365. We want to recognize those partners and highlight them in the Microsoft Office 365 Marketplace.
The following process is used for identifying recommended deployment partners on a monthly basis:
Identify partners who have completed at least three deployments.
Review identified partners with key stakeholders.
Collect feedback from region/subsidiary.
Place partners on recommended deployment partner list depending on the largest deployment done by the partner.
Publish the list on Microsoft Office 365 Marketplace under recommended deployment partners.
