This course will provide you with hands-on experience with Windows 8. It provides guidance on installation, upgrading, and licensing for Windows 8. You will learn how to manage storage by creating simple, spanned, and striped volumes, and optimizing file-system performance. Additionally, you will learn how to manage available disk space using quotas. You will also work with the windows services used to determine the source of performance and reliability issues, and how to respond to these issues. You will learn to configure connecting to IPv4, IPv6, wireless networks, VPN, and DirectAccess, along with the networking features that are used to troubleshoot networking issues, and shield their computers from security threats. You will learn the fundamentals of working with virtual machines in the Client Hyper-V, and as part of the learning experience, you’ll perform hands-on exercises in a virtual lab environment. You will use the traditional GUI interface as well as Windows PowerShell 3.0 to configure and manage the systems. You will also get a head start on using the new integrated cloud services of SkyDrive and Windows Store.
