IT Interview Gone Wrong

Because sometimes, interviewing candidates is a tough job! Check out the incompetence of non-certified IT candidates seeking the same IT position within a company interviewing with an IT Hiring Manager. The hiring manager’s visibly mounting frustration vanishes when finally, a competent MCP arrives.

Honestly the only reason I have even bothered with any M$ certs is to get past clueless HR and hiring managers that pick people to interview solely off certifications on their resume. Specifically looking for M$ certs alone and ignoring job experience entirely. I passed the 70-680 and got my MCTS and I have never once used the built in imaging and deployment tools that they make a big deal about in that exam in the real IT World. I honestly don't know anyone who ever has.

The "Creepy Guy", "Go Getter" and "Rookie" seems so really stupid that it just appears as if it was a comedy show.. I can't believe that a person could be so *** stupid and appears for a technical interview.. This is outright fake..

I am amazed at how people comment here who cannot write a sentence. If you write resumes like you write online comments then I am not surprised that you’re not employed.

I've taken several MOC courses but honestly I've never been denied a job because I didn't take the test for a certification. The only thing certification proves is that you can take a test.

About the certifications to everyone!

How can you become experienced,if you can't work in the IT sector? Nobody will hire you, if you don't have experience. I am MCSE. I made it because for me, there was no opportunity to work in this field. In our country, you need to minimum 3 years experince, and have to know Win,Linux(red hat,Ubuntu),Citrix,VMWare,VB,SQL,MySQL, and more to get a BASIC IT job! So, don't *** people, who have certificate, but no experience. Ask yourself: Where did you get experince? In school? At home? In course? NOO! At workplace! If you see, if someboy isn't know something, HELP her/him! I am still looking for job, with IT diplom and with MCSE, because nobody give a chance to prove my knowledge!

I've worked with and made the mistake of hiring incompetent Paper MCP's and MCSE's who couldn't even plug an ethernet cable into a PC or remove a hard drive from a PC and image it... Certs are a joke and just because someone has a few does not mean they have more experience than someone who does not have any... With all the brain dump sites on the internet its not hard to become a Paper MCP or MCSE. People should not hire based on Certifications you need experience to do the job not certs... Now maybe if they have a CISSP or CCNP they have some experience but M$ certs do not mean much anymore especially without much experience...

I have seen that clearing Microsoft certification has become child's play by downloading dumps from Internet and just memorizing the answers for the questions listed in the dumps. One can be sure to get 90% of questions from dumps. Microsoft must do something to get rid of this. Otherwise MS certification wouldn't hold any value. going forward.

Kind of funny, but in my experience, having or not having a Microsoft cert is maybe the smallest indicator of whether someone can handle the job. ***, but that's been my experience. Perhaps if the test questions were a bit more technical and less salesy, that would help. We just fired someone who was highly certified after less than 2 weeks. His replacement holds no cert and is doing a great job.

I see that this has value as an advert for certification, but to take this as a serious case study is ludicrous. There is value in learning and gaining certification in various technologies, in order to increase skills; however, you shouldn't be expected to have these certifications on entry into the IT industry. Surely people like these would be weeded out because of their CVs, long before the interview stage. And the guy at the end couldn't be that good, he didn't even wear a tie.

@ Kuro4321 - You are correct as reading these comments are hurting my brain. I hold no MS certs currently to date, but I do hold others in the Security Industry. It is sad that an IT Professional would not use something with spellcheck if they knew they had issues typing. It is an integrated part of Microsoft Word after all. Working with those with certs, I have seen good and bad, but I also would not put my money on them solely. The person with the certs in this video was coming off knowledgeable, but so are most of the people I work with and not all of them have MS certs, they just love their profession.

Certification is important for a presentable resume. However, real knowledge is the key to succeed in IT world. Here, you made mockery of applicant. In real interview I found interviewer sometimes asks dump questions for example in a systems admin interview, interviewer asked me do I know VB programming. By the way, I am MCSE,MCSA and CCNA

Having read some viewer comments and seeing the numerous grammatical and spelling errors, makes me think that you all should return your Certs and go back to grammar school.

Certifications are one thing but knowledge is key. I think Certifications should be required for a position in corporate America, if you "brain dumped" to get the cert ya better learn real world skilss, problems and solutions. Microsoft tests are getting better at emulating real scenarios unlike the past were the questions were just dumb... BTW I'm a 2008 MCITP Enterprise Admin.

I really hope that the bad examples portrayed are not gleaned from real interviews. That being said, I've seen in just the last few weeks the limited skills of many folks in the industry who truly should not have jobs. Certs can help you muster yourself to grasp concepts and methods of a technology. Never should someone study just to pass a certification test. Passion for the technology will be manifest in a person's converstation.

I fully agree with MarketingHype. Its not only a certificate that divides the pro from the beginner, its a bit more than that. Yes, certificates show that a person has sucessfully made tha tests.... *** more, *** less ! But it does unfortunatly not show wether such a candidate is able to make his/her knowdledge a value for a company. I often met certified people where I (as a cerifite too !!) thought by myself what the h... this person has REALLY done over the last months ? On the other hand there are people out without a cert. who really know a lot about different "tastes" of IT. Just my few cents

LEarning is good, Certifications help to get some decent job, but waht lasts is ability and experiance. I guess equillibrium in every aspect of life is very very important, so as with professional life.
anandevil (975 Days ago)

Certifications will be valid only when bing returns 0 for dumps. :) Till then, anyone can BUY these certifications. Majority of the certified professionals are like this now...

Interesting how the certification tracks for all vendors have taken a turn for the worse yet companies still market cert's as the holy grail for finding the right personel. Being a Director Of IT for over 35 years I see more of this from people WITH certifications than not, the last 20 IT people I have hired do not have cert's and are still doing very well while those I have hired WITH Cert's have now been fired, I find those with Cert's have only learned to talk-some-talk... Just my 35 year old $.02 cents :-)
