Security and privacy in Microsoft Office Products
Translator values your security and privacy when using the Translator features in Microsoft Office. Therefore, all communication between the Microsoft Office apps and the Translator service use a secure, SSL encryption to send and receive translations.
Microsoft Office products are set up as no-trace by default. With no trace, no portion of the translated content will be logged on the Translator service, the submitted text will not be used to improve the quality of the Translator service, and there will not be any record of any portion of the customer content in the Microsoft data centers.
The following Microsoft Office products are no-trace:

Your IT department also has the ability to partially or completely control translation features. For example, controls can enable or disable a feature, control permissible language, etc.
To satisfy strict regulatory requirements, on premises translation service is available for the on premises version of SharePoint and Word.
