Web Seminar: How to Increase Production Throughput Using GeoImaging Accelerator Aerial

GXL-A: a high volume image production solution that extends UltraMap for high speed Ortho and Mosaic creation

In October 2010, PCI Geomatics and Vexcel Imaging GmbH introduced the GeoImaging Accelerator Aerial (GXL-A), a new high speed production solution that extends the UltraMap photogrammetric workflow software to provide a high-speed, automated workflow for the creation of orthorectified imagery and mosaics from the UltraCam series of cameras.

In this webcast, you will learn:

  • How GXL-A can help you to generate additional revenue through the implementation of a scalable solution that will allow you to process terrabytes of imagery per day in a highly automated and efficient manner (thousands of UltraCam images in standard 60/30 overlap projects)
  • How GXL-A will reduce your expenses through the deployment of an integrated, off-the-shelf hardware and software solution that works directly with UltraMap output
  • How GXL-A will improve your operations through an informative interface, efficient job management and simple licensing
  • How GXL-A will help you to prevent incurring future losses, by providing a extensible solution whereby you can add capability based on specific customer requirements or market demand

The webcast will include an introduction to the PCI Geomatics/Microsoft Vexcel Imaging alliance from Alexander Weichert, Business Director of Microsoft and Managing Director for Vexcel Imaging GmbH, and will be followed by a presentation and demonstration of the GeoImaging Accelerator Aerial production system from David Piekny, Product Manager for PCI Geomatics. Registration details below.

Film-to-Digital Web Seminar: Project Planning and Design

Microsoft’s Film-to-Digital Web Seminar Series is designed to prepare you for the fully-digital operational workflow that the UltraCam digital aerial camera system is based on; to take you beyond the specifications to discuss the critical steps in transforming your organization’s capabilities; and to better understand the differences between your past film operations and your future capabilities. These Microsoft sponsored webinars are presented in conjunction with an independent consultant who has first-hand experience operating the UltraCam and managing the transition from film to digital.

The third topic in the series is “Project Planning and Design”, which will focus on issues involved in planning and executing a photogrammetric project using a large-format digital camera. Leading on from earlier topics covering image characteristics, resolution and accuracy, this webcast will cover some practical considerations of project planning and design, including such elements as flight planning, ground control, integration of airborne GPS/IMU, and use of a flight management system.

Resolution and Accuracy

The next topic for the second presentation of our Film-to-Digital webinar series is “Resolution and Accuracy”, of particular importance to photogrammetrists and those interested in understanding the potential of the large-format digital camera for mapping applications. This webcast will cover such topics as the impact of camera design on accuracy, calibration methods, reports and results, and accuracies achieved in practice in a range of projects using different photogrammetric application software.

Film-to-Digital Web Seminar Series

Purchasing a sophisticated imaging sensor such as the UltraCam is a major step in moving forward to create a fully-digital production workflow. We want you to be fully prepared and knowledgeable as you move forward. That’s why Microsoft has launched a Film-to-Digital Web Seminar Series, presented in conjunction with an independent consultant who has first-hand experience operating the UltraCam and managing the transition from film to digital. The first of this series, “Introduction to Digital Imaging”, is now available On Demand below. This webcast covers the key distinctions between film-based operations and a fully-digital approach, focusing on image characteristics and issues relating to workflow and data management.
