The Microsoft UltraCam Osprey is a digital aerial camera system family for combined nadir and oblique image capture. The UltraCam Osprey Prime II combines a high performing photogrammetric nadir camera with oblique capture capability, offering a more versatile data set than other oblique systems on the market. The UltraCam Osprey Prime Lite is an entry level camera system for combined RGB nadir and RGB oblique capture.
More than a standard camera, the UltraCam Osprey Prime II houses two cameras in one photogrammetric grade housing, using cutting edge technology to collect photogrammetry-grade nadir images (PAN, RGB and NIR) and oblique images (80 Mega pixel RGB) simultaneously, serving applications such as cadastre, infrastructure planning, DTMOrtho or DSMOrtho generation. Like all UltraCam systems, the UltraCam Osprey delivers subpixel accuracy, excellent signal-to-noise ratio, and integrates all system components in the sensor head including the optional UltraNav direct geo-referencing and fl ight management subsystem. With bestin- class flight collection efficiency, the UltraCam Osprey Prime II is designed so that the full swath width of the nadir cone (13,470 pixel) can be used and oblique image overlap is high enough to generate oblique orthos as well as textured DSMs. The UltraCam Osprey Prime Lite is an new entry-level camera system and features five 80 Mega pixel RGB color cones for nadir and oblique collection.
An optional nadir NIR cone can be integrated to optimize for classification applications. The UltraCam Osprey Prime Lite can be easily upgraded to an UltraCam Osprey Prime II. Both cameras are fully supported by the UltraMap workflow with outstanding features such as automated oblique color balancing or oblique AT.
