Saving Your Changes As a New Scheme

Once you've made changes to an item, you can save those new settings as a new scheme, customized and named by you.

1 On the Start menu:
  • Point to Settings.
  • Click Control Panel.
Display the Start menu by pressing CTRL+ESC (or the Windows logo key).
  • Move to Settings by pressing S.
  • Select Control Panel by pressing C.
2 In Control Panel:
  • Double-click the Display icon.
If the focus is not on Control Panel, press TAB.
  • Move to the Display icon by using the arrow keys.
  • Press ENTER.
3 In the Display Properties dialog box:
  • Click the Appearance tab.
In the Display Properties dialog box:
  • Move to the Background tab by pressing SHIFT+TAB.
  • Move to the Appearance tab by pressing the RIGHT ARROW key.
4 On the Appearance tab:
  • Select Save As.
On the Appearance tab:
  • Move to Save As by pressing ALT+V.
5 In the Save Scheme dialog box:
  • Type a name for your scheme.
  • Click OK.
In the Save Scheme dialog box:
  • Type a name for your scheme.
  • Press ENTER.
6 In the Display Properties dialog box:
  • Click OK.
In the Display Properties dialog box:
  • Move to OK by pressing the TAB key.
  • Press ENTER.
