Change pointer settings including motion and visibility

What your mouse pointer looks like as you move it can be adjusted to enhance visibility on the screen.

To open the Ease of Access Center, select:

  • Start.
  • Control Panel.
  • Ease of Access.
  • Ease of Access Center.

To open the Ease of Access Center, press:

  • Windows logo key Windows logo key+U.

Under Explore all settings, select:

  • Make the mouse easier to use.

Under Explore all settings, select:

  • Make the mouse easier to use by pressing TAB, then ENTER.

Under See also, select:

  • Mouse settings.

In Mouse Properties:

  • Select the Pointer Options tab.

In Mouse Properties:

  • Select the Pointer Options tab by pressing CTRL+TAB.

Under Motion, select:

  • A pointer speed from Slow to Fast.

Under Motion, select:

  • A pointer speed from Slow to Fast by pressing ALT+C and the arrow keys.

Under Snap To, select:

  • Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box.

Under Snap To, select:

  • Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box by pressing ALT+U.

Under Visibility, select:

  • Display pointer trails and a length from short to long.
  • Hide pointer while typing.
  • Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key.
  • Select OK.

Under Visibility, select:

  • Display pointer trails and a length from short to long by pressing ALT+D, TAB, and the arrow keys.
  • Hide pointer while typing by pressing ALT+H.
  • Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key by pressing ALT+S.
  • Select OK by pressing TAB, then ENTER.
