Jim DuBois

Corporate Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Microsoft Corporation

Jim DuBois is corporate vice president and chief information officer (CIO) at Microsoft Corporation. He is responsible for the company’s global security, infrastructure, IT messaging, and business applications. DuBois was appointed CIO January 2014 after serving as interim CIO since May 2013. DuBois helps ensure that Microsoft is the “first and best customer” of its own products. In addition to maintaining a globally-integrated set of enterprise IT platforms built on Microsoft technology, his team deploys pre-release versions of Microsoft products throughout the company. The direction and feedback his team provides to Microsoft developers help them enhance products before their commercial release. DuBois has served various other roles in Microsoft IT since joining the company in 1993. These roles include leading IT teams for application development, infrastructure and service management. DuBois helped pioneer Microsoft’s early Internet Data Center operations and led large engineering teams. He also served as Microsoft’s Chief Information Security Officer and spent several years living in Asia and then Europe learning the Microsoft field business while running the respective regional IT teams. Before joining Microsoft, DuBois’ worked for Accenture, focusing on financial and distribution systems. DuBois has a bachelor of science in computer science and business from the University of Washington.
