A study by Amarach Research (commissioned by Microsoft Ireland) looked at how Irish employees use, share and communicate company information within their organisations. Four distinct personalities emerged within Irish organisations when it came to sharing information.
Key findings include:
- Brokers are the most effective at sharing and using data, while Traders, Squanderers and Hoarders could fritter away competitive advantage
- 79% feel that company information should be shared equally within their organisation, but 57% feel colleagues hoard information for personal advantage
- Your business culture and technology attracts or creates these specific personalities
- Irish organisations need to adopt Enterprise Social technologies to avoid wasting precious internal company, customer and competitor information - 48% of their employees demand this shared resource, warns Microsoft Ireland
