IBC 2012 Round-up: Establishing the Business Case for your Cloud Strategy

Microsoft was at the International Broadcast Conference (IBC) in September 2012 and, along with partner Atos, sponsored a workshop. Our goal was to assist senior executives with understanding how to develop a robust business case for their journey to the cloud. The session kicked off with significant industry insights as it relates to consumer behavior, device proliferation, advertising ROI and of course in-depth competitive analyses for broadcasters. This information populated key drivers which substantiated a media business’s need to become more agile and innovative. We presented a business case methodology created by Cranfield School of Management and applied that model to a typical need for broadcasters: “content delivery across multiple devices”. The session was a great success and our team is keen to unlock the insights, business model and path to the cloud with our clients.
